Rameshwaram rituals for the dead

Rameshwaram rituals for the dead

Performing Thila Homam at Rameswaram, the pithrus (ancestors) are satisfied and they bestow their blessings not only on us but also on our children and grandchildren. Thila homam is performed at our Yagya shaala in Rameswaram. No place is more auspicious and powerful than this place. The shastra further says that even if one of the family members carries this sin, it will affect the others as well.

Hence, all the family members must attend this homam for full effect as it is done only once in a lifetime. Thila Homam is arranged for the peace of the souls who died unnaturally. When they remain restless it creates an adverse effect in our family and continues to generation to generation. Thila Homam helps the suffering soul to seek Moksha.

Known and unknown sins are removed and you get pitru asheervadam(blessings). Here the Mantra is not chanted as in the case of usual ancestors’s ceremony, rather it is mostly performed only once in a lifetime because we are not supposed to disturb our ancestor souls. This homam can help us to remove the Karmic burden.

Thila (alias Gingelly) is offered in this homam. Lord Surya Bhagavan (sun) is worshiped in kalasha and mandala. Gayathri manthra and pitru dosha parihara mantras are chanted. Kalasha, phala and ajya daanas are given followed by Yama raja Pooja & homa then pinda pradanam is performed. Performing Thila homam at Rameswaram is very powerful and it gives Pitru-Moksha.

Performing thila homam helps in providing relief to the dead souls.
Thila Homam / Pitra Dosha Remedies helps in getting rid of Pitru dosham.
It provides relief from the sudden sufferings and worries in ones life.
Marriage related problems, child birth arising due to Pitru dosham can be overcome by performing thila homam.

Rameswaram Panchmukhi Hanuman Hemple

Rameswaram Panchmukhi Hanuman Hemple

In Hinduism, Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Rama.Lord Hanuman, known as the Lord of Celibacy was an ideal "Brahmachari" or called Naistika Brahmachari in Sanskrit and is one of the central characters of the Indian epic Ramayana . As one of the Chiranjivi, he is also mentioned in several other texts, such as the Mahabharata and the various Puranas. Hanuman is the son of Anjani and Kesari and is also son of the wind-god Pawan, who according to several stories, played a role in his Avatar.

If yoga is the ability to control one's mind then Hanuman is the quintessential yogi having a perfect mastery over his senses, achieved through a disciplined lifestyle tempered by the twin streams of celibacy and selfless devotion (bhakti). In fact, Hanuman is the ideal Brahmachari (one who follows the path of Brahma), if ever there was one. He is also a perfect karma yogi since he performs his actions with detachment, acting as an instrument of destiny rather than being impelled by any selfish motive.

While Hanuman is one of the central characters in the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana, the evidence of devotional worship to him is missing in the texts and archeological sites of ancient and most of the medieval period. According to Philip Lutgendorf, an American Indologist known for his studies on Hanuman, the theological significance and devotional dedication to Hanuman emerged about 1,000 years after the composition of the Ramayana, in the 2nd millennium CE, after the arrival of Islamic rule in the Indian subcontinent.Bhakti movement saints such as Samarth Ramdas expressed Hanuman as a symbol of nationalism and resistance to persecution. In the modern era, his iconography and temples have been increasingly common. He is viewed as the ideal combination of "strength, heroic initiative and assertive excellence" and "loving, emotional devotion to his personal god Rama", as Shakti and Bhakti. In later literature, he has been the patron god of martial arts such as wrestling, acrobatics, as well as meditation and diligent scholarship. He symbolizes the human excellences of inner self-control, faith and service to a cause, hidden behind the first impressions of a being who looks like an Ape-Man Vanara.

Hanuman is stated by scholars to be the inspiration for the allegory-filled adventures of a monkey hero in the Xiyouji (Journey to the West) – the great Chinese poetic novel influenced by the travels of Buddhist monk Xuanzang (602–664 CE) to India.

Bhagvathi Amman Temple

Devi KanyaKumari is goddess Shree Bhagavathy in the form of an adolescent girl child. The Bhagavathy Temple is located in KanyaKumari in Tamil Nadu, at the southern tip of main land India, there by located on the confluence of the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. She is also known by several other names, including Kanya Devi and Devi Kumari. She is also worshiped as Shree Bhadrakali by devotees. Sage Parashurama is said to have performed the consecration of the temple. The goddess is believed to be the one who removes the rigidity of our mind; devotees usually feel the tears in their eyes or even inside their mind when they pray to the goddess in devotion and contemplation. Kanyakumari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peetam. It is believed that the spine area of Sati’s corpse fell here creating the presence of kundalini sakthi in the region.
As directed by his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, came here to seek Devi’s blessing in December 1892. It is in this location he decided to embark on the missionary work to a higher level of action rather than being passive like the usual Sanyasis. Swami Brahmananda (1863–1922) and Swami Nirmalananda (1863–1938), another two disciples of Sri Ramakrishna Parama Hamsa, also worshiped Devi Kanyakumari. In fact, Swami Nirmalananda brought several small girls from many parts of Kerala to worship goddess here in 1935-36 period. Seven girls later on became the members of the first batch of Nuns of the “Sarada Ashrama”, a Hindu nunnery started later in 1948 in Ottapalam, Palakkad, Kerala by Swami Vishadananda.
